The Quirky Petal – Atelier Floral

Hello, I’m Kate, Katie is my Sunday name, and depending who is shouting me, I even get called Quirky, Quirks or Petal sometimes! Atelier Floral describes where and what I work with – in a studio with flowers.

My costal based studio, in beautiful Morecambe Bay, overlooks the South Lake District, and is very close to the Lancashire/Cumbria/North Yorkshire border, meaning I am perfectly placed for wedding and event floristry in the Lake District, Yorkshire Dales, Eden Valley and Ribble Valley.

After training at Myerscough College I started my business in 2019, and following further professional development at Tallulah Rose Flower School a year later, I made the decision to move away from retail floristry to that of purely wedding and event floristry.

My style is abundant – I love flowers truly, madly, deeply and struggle to leave any stem behind! My arrangements have a natural garden gathered, romantic elegance full of texture, movement and floral treasures. I love a touch of whimsy and I am definitely a lover of wonky, unruly stems, the ones that lend themselves to create arrangements with a hint of wild, rustic charm.
